The two most successful franchises in NBA history, the Boston Celtics and the LA Lakers, will be part of the opening night of the 2024/25 season.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the reigning champions, Boston Celtics, will get their rings in a special ceremony and will then host the New York Knicks at TD Garden on October 22.
As for their rivals, the LA Lakers, they will welcome the Minnesota Timberwolves at Crypto.com Arena in the second match of the opening night of the 2024/25 season.
The LA franchise was part of the season opener last year as well, as they faced then NBA champions Denver Nuggets.
As for the Celtics, they will play the Dallas Mavericks twice next season, first in Dallas (January 25) and then in Boston (February 6). The two franchises collided in the 2024 NBA Finals back in june.
