Indiana grew in popularity after the Fever drafted Caitlin Clark at the No. 1 pick of the 2024 WNBA Draft. Indiana was also the host of the NBA All-Star game last season, but the state will bring the league’s superstars to the city for the first time in its history.
Fever had the last two No. 1 picks in the 2023 and 2024 drafts, Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark, respectively. The NCAA phenom has brought a huge surge of interest to the team since he joined the franchise before the start of the 2024 season.
“We are excited to bring AT&T WNBA All-Star to Indiana for the first time,” said WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert.
“The city of Indianapolis and the entire state of Indiana have such an incredible and enduring passion for the game of basketball, making the region the perfect host to celebrate the WNBA and the game’s greatest stars.”
The previous All-Star Weekend took place in Phoenix last month and featured the most watched All-Star Game ever.
Team USA battled with an elite group of the league’s superstars, with Arike Ogunbowale winning All-Star Game MVP as she tallied a new All-Star Game-record 34 points to lead the WNBA team to victory.
