Guerschon Yabusele is set to return to the NBA after five years, as the French international agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. As reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Yabusele signed a 1-year deal worth a minimum of $2.1 million.
Yabusele’s contract with Real Madrid included a $2.5 million NBA-out clause, which is getting paid by the player. Yabusele, 28, had an excellent performance during the 2024 Paris Olympics, helping the French national team reach the gold medal game.
The dynamic forward posted 14.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. He scored a total of 37 points in the tournament’s semi-final and final.
Over the last three seasons, the former ASVEL star has had an enormously successful run in Madrid. He was a EuroLeague champion in 2023 and reached the top European competition’s final on three occasions. He’s also a two-time Liga ACB champion and has a French League title under his belt.
The French international was the 16th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and played for the Boston Celtics between 2017 and 2019.
