Partizan Belgrade unveiled its new roster ahead of the 2024–25 season. With the team losing the previous core of Kevin Punter, Zach LeDay, and Aleksa Avramovic, the Serbian powerhouse revealed 13 new faces in its squad.
Among the surprising additions were Sterling Brown, Arijan Lakic, and Isiaha Mike, while the Serbian club also added Frank Ntilikina, Isaac Bonga, Vanja Marinkovic, and Iffe Lundberg. The Serbian club also welcomed Tyrique Jones, Brandon Davies, and Aleksej Pokusevski.
Duane Washington, who made the move known on his X account a few weeks ago, was present at the event, while Carlik Jones was the only one of the newcomers who wasn’t able to make it in time.
Mozzart Sport reported that the South Sudanese guard missed the event due to a flight delay. Last season, Partizan finished 11th in the EuroLeague after an underwhelming season. In contrast, during the 2022–23 season, they reached the EuroLeague playoffs and pushed the series against top-seeded Real Madrid to five games.
Partizan targets a long-term contract in the EuroLeague
Obviously, Partizan is hoping to secure a long-term deal in the EuroLeague, as head coach Zeljiko Obradovic hinted during the “Black and White Symphony” presentation that took place Monday.
“We decided to create a new team. We have 16 players. The average age of the team is 25, so we will be one of the youngest teams,” the veteran coach noted, per Mozzart Sport.
“I would like to thank the president, Ostoja Mijailović, and the Board of Directors for doing everything in their power to put together a competitive team. Next year, getting a license for three years will be a priority.”
Partizan is set to start playing for the new EuroLeague season on October 3, 2024, visiting Baskonia for the opening round of the 2024–25 season.
