Steve Nash dismisses potetial return to coaching job

Steve Nash was the head of the Brooklyn Nets project that brought Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant together at the Barclays Center. Nash was appointed to the Nets’ bench and became head coach after his illustrious career as an NBA superstar.

In the end, things did not work out for him and the Nets as the team parted ways with the 2-time MVP after two seasons, while a little later they ended up losing Irving and Durant.

“Coaching was a great experience; I didn’t want to be a career coach. I don’t think coaching is about to be my career.

I’m coaching my kids and teaching them life. I earned the opportunity to choose, and that’s rewarding. There are always projects, affiliates, and partnerships. I always have something going on; I’m focused on my family,” per Eurohoops.net.

Nash arrived in Ljubljana, where he will attend the Night of the Dragon celebratory events. A special celebration for Goran Dragic’s basketball career. Dragic will be honored by friends and former teammates for his basketball career and his achievements. Steve Nash mentored Dragic early in his career while both were playing for the Phoenix Suns.

“The easy part for me was being comfortable with my leadership role and leading by example. What is actually difficult from a coaching perspective is that it’s a totally different leadership style. When you’re coaching, you have to lead in smaller moments,” Steve Nash said about the difference between coaching and mentoring players.
