Crvena Zvezda president says they will continue to pursue Filip Petrusev

Filip Petrusev is under contract with Olympiacos, but Crvena Zvezda has expressed the desire to bring him back. Zvezda president Nebojsa Covic said that his team will continue to pursue the Serbian big man, even though the Reds have made it clear that they will not engage in talks with the Serbians for Petrusev.

“We’ll see more. We’re thinking about Petrusev and no one else. He’s an Olympiacos player. We’ll see how they put together the team, whether Filip can be free or not. Whether he’ll come or not, I can’t tell you. If I were in the NBA team, I would try to combine Petrusev with Nikola Jokic, but that’s their problem. We have 16 players right now,” Covic said during an appearance on the Miljanov Korner podcast, via Basketnews.com.

Filip Petrusev is coming off a stellar campaign with Serbia in the Olympics, where his team finished third. The former Zvezda big man will come off the bench for Olympiacos, with former EuroLeague MVP Sasha Vezenkov being the starting power forward.
