Ignas Brazdeikis did not have the minutes on the court to change the course of the game during his second season in the EuroLeague. According to the Lithuanian wing, who returned to Zalgiris this summer, his time with the Reds did not go as planned but helped him mature a lot as a player.
“Without a doubt. I felt that I was able to impact the game and impact winning even over there. Unfortunately that didn’t happen for me, so I would definitely say I’m hungry,” Brazdeikis claimed during a preseason interview with his team.
“I’ve been working on my game this entire offseason and taking the time to kind of analyze some things. This is my first summer really off in a coupe of seasons. This summer I had time to sit back, work on my game, and make some growth.”
The Lithuanian international is coming off a tough season in the Euroleague. He appeared in 27 games and put up averages of 3.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in nearly 10 minutes per game.
“They had a lot of great veterans, great coaching staff, and great organization. I learned a lot from them. Being in a different environment, with different people, and the veterans over there had a lot to teach and kind of took it all in. I tried to learn as much as I could, to see the positive side, and I definitely made some growth.”
Before joining the Greek giants, Brazdeikis played for Zalgiris and put up solid performances for the Lithuanian giants, posting 11.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game in the EuroLeague.
