Jan Vesely has no timetable to return after appendectomy surgery

Barcelona star big man Jan Vesely could miss some time after having appendectomy surgery during the offseason. The Czech big man has not joined the Catalans’ training sessions, instead he is practicing individually.

The Blaugrana have opened their training camp for the new season and are preparing for their first official match, which will be a clash with Real Madrid in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup (Saturday, September 21).

It is unclear whether Jan Vesely, who had averages of 12.3 points and 4.3 rebounds last season, will be ready to go for the game against the Whites.

Barcelona made several roster changes this offseason, bringing in six new players as well as a new head coach in Joan Penarroya. Their EuroLeague season opener will be a road game against Zalgiris Kaunas on Thursday, October 3.
