“I still watch some highlights” – Stephen Curry reflects on performances in 2024 Olympics

The Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry has already agreed to extend their tenure together, but the 2024 Olympics remains in the future Hall of Famer’s mind. Curry, who is preparing for his 15th season in the NBA, showed how much it mattered to him to win the gold in Paris.

“It still hasn’t really sunk in,” Curry recently told CNBC when he was asked about his feelings for being a gold medalist (h/t Bleacher Report). “I mean, winning a gold, we expected to do that, we knew it was going to be hard, but how it happened? I still watch some highlights.”

Curry was pivotal for Team USA in the semifinal against Serbia and the final against the hosts, France. He dropped 36 points on 12-19 shooting during a 17-point comeback victory over Serbia.

He connected on 17 of his 26 long-range attempts over his last two appearances, despite starting the tournament averaging 7.8 points on 25 percent from three.

Stephen Curry had a very successful first Olympics appearance in his basketball career, and it clearly meant a lot to him, as he put “Olympic gold medalist” in his Instagram bio after victory over France.

“Seven game series, it’s a long build up. This was just one game, 40 minutes, can you get it done? And obviously, the France game, gold medal game in France. That last three minutes was storybook stuff,” Stephen Curry admitted.
