NBA rumors: Houston Rockets up-and-coming talent prepares to step away from game of basketball

Houston Rockets wing AJ Griffin is preparing to depart from the game of basketball, as Chams Charania reported Thursday.

The 16th overall pick of the 2022 draft, Griffin had a promising rookie season in which he averaged 8.9 points per game. However, he only made 20 appearances last season due to injuries.

He also missed  time due to personal reason during the past year. Griffin was traded to Houston in June in a three-team deal that saw Atlanta acquire the No. 43 pick.

The son of former Milwaukee Bucks head coach and long-time NBA assistant Adrian Griffin, AJ Griffin has a team option for his third season. The Rockets have less than a month to make a decision on the young wing.

The latest report could suggest that Griffin will not stay in Houston.
