Vincent Collet has stepped down as head coach of the national team of France after 15 years, during which the French emerged as one of the best national teams in the world. A few days later, the French Basketball Federation announced Vincent Collet’s successor in Bourg head coach Frederic Fauthoux.
Frederic Fauthoux has been the head coach of Bourg since 2022 and led the team to the EuroCup Finals in the 2023/24 season. Recently, he agreed to a three-year extension with the French club, which includes a EuroLeague exit clause next summer.

Under Frederic Fauthoux, France will compete in the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers, the 2025 EuroBasket (should they qualify), the 2027 FIBA Baskestball World Cup Qualifiers, the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup (should they qualify), and the 2028 Olympic Games.
