Kendrick Nunn opened up about the atmosphere that Crvena Zvezda fans created in the home game vs Panathinaikos on Friday. The American star guard said this hostile environment gave him extra motivation, but he admitted that he enjoys playing in such environments.
“It was crazy. I like that I don’t have any beef with the opponents’ fans; they are not on my tail too much, but I enjoy atmospheres like that; it gets me going,” Kendrick Nunn said, via Eurohoops.net.
Ergin Ataman and Mathias Lessort were another two Panathinaikos’ members that referred to the atmosphere at Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, with the French big man getting booed at the halftime interview and staring down at Zvezda fans.
Despite trailing by as many as 14 points in the game (44-30), Panathinaikos came back and turned things around, improving their record to 5-2, just one win behind league leaders Zalgiris Kaunas (6-1). Next week, they will host rivals Olympiacos (4-3) in the Greek Clasico.
