EuroLeague action continues with five more games to open the Round 14 action. Maccabi Tel Aviv hosts FC Barcelona, with both teams searching for a win to recoup some of their chances going forward. The Catalans are in a four-game losing streak after a close loss to defending champions Panathinaikos on Tuesday.
Maccabi is looking to add to their winning column having only one victory in the last 5 EuroLeague games. In this contest, we will focus on Rokas Jokubaitis, who is having the best season of his career for the 4-9 Maccabi.
Jokubaitis has been scoring and shooting a lot during the last few weeks, and we expect to see him doing it again against his former team.
FC Barcelona has shown poor defensive concentration this EuroLeague season and the Lithuanian might have a grudge against his former team for releasing him last summer, so scoring over 11.5 points on Thursday’s night contest seems to be a plausible value bet.
FC Bayern Basketball scores a lot of points in the SAP Arena
Baskonia has improved its defense this season under coach Pablo Laso. However, no team is able to stop FC Bayern Basketball in their newly built home, the SAP Arena. The Bavarians are leading the way in scoring average in the EuroLeague and they are remaining unbeaten at home. Returning to their winning ways should be considered a high possibility, especially with Baskonia’s poor record, but the value bet should be their excellent offensive production, especially at home.
For us, what really stands out is the possibility of both teams scoring a total of over 168.0 points in the regulation. Even in a poor performance during the previous game against Efes, the German giants still finished the contest with 90 points, while they are ranked as one of the worst teams defensively, allowing 87.7 (17th in the EuroLeague) points per game.
Going for the over 168.0 points on this occasion seems to be the right move in tonight’s game.
Facundo Campazzo is set to fill the stat sheet against Fenerbahce
Facundo Campazzo has a lot on his plate with Real Madrid struggling to gather victories, especially away from the Wizink Center. That said, his high usage remains a strong tip to follow going forward. The Argentine guard has an underwhelming game in the scoring department (5 PTS, 4 REB, 12 AST) in the shocking loss to ASVEL.
We believe that he is going to bounce back before the end of this EuroLeague week so we expect him to have a big game in Thursday’s headliner vs. Fenerbahce. The Turkish giants are also coming off an unexpected loss to the struggling Baskonia so it will be interesting to see if they can stop Madrid in Wizink Arena.
We would like to see Campazzo have one of his usual performances as the main perimeter threat, placing our trust in the OVER 23.5 points, rebounds, and assists against Fener.
