Kostas Antetokounmpo has officially become a free agent after parting ways with Panathinaikos. The Greens announced the Greek big man’s departure on Tuesday, with the NBA and EuroLeague champion leaving the club after nearly two years.
Still, he is not expected to remain a free agent for quite a long, as he is set to move to Spain and sign with Murcia, which competes in the ACB and the Basketball Champions League.

The Greek big man was struggling all season long with injuries and had lost his spot in the rotation. Likewise, he was dealing with injuries last season as well, where Panathinaikos won the Greek Basket League and the EuroLeague.
Kostas Antetokounmpo’s departure means that the Greens have only one centre available (Wenyen Gabriel), as Mathias Lessort and Omer Yurtseven are currently out with injuries. The reigning EuroLeague champions are currently tied for third in the standings with Monaco, Crvena Zvezda and Bayern Munich, at 16-10.
