Jerian Grant says a Game 2 win over Efes will allow Panathinaikos to ‘take control of the series’

Jerian Grant and Panathinaikos protected their home court in Game 1 (87-83) and now want to come a step away from the EuroLeague Final Four, as they host Anadolu Efes in Game 2 on Thursday.

The Turks will look to respond after missing the chance to take the upper hand on Tuesday. Jerian Grant knows, though, that a win in Game 2 will let the reigning EuroLeague champions ‘take control of the series’.

All of them are tough. This is one that, you know, if we can get, we can really take control of the series. But we’re at home, so we’re supposed to win—though it’s never easy. It’s one game. This is a best-of-five series against a really good team. Coach told us to go just game by game, and we’re gonna take it like that,” Jerian Grant said after Game 1. [h/t Eurohoops.net]

The American star guard hit the dagger with 30 seconds to go, giving Panathinaikos a five-point lead and eventually the victory in Game 1. Next week, the series will move to Istanbul for Games 3 and 4 (if needed).
