Stephen Curry opened up about the hamstring injury he sustained in Game 1 of the Western Conference semi-finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The four-time NBA champion said he would be in no rush to return unless he has fully recovered as he could likely re-aggravate the injury.
At the moment, Curry is expected to miss a week with a hamstring strain.
“Eventually, there’ll be conversations like that. I’m not even anywhere close to that right now. I’m not rushing it. There has to be a natural healing process that happens, and the body will tell you when you’re able to do normal basketball movements, pain-free, and all that stuff,” Stephen Curry said. “I know how tricky hamstrings can be, where they can fool you and think that it’s healed even if you don’t feel anything. So that gray area is a little confusing, but I’ll do everything in my power to get back as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, the projected timeline for his return varies from Game 5 to Game 6 and the superstar guard wants to see his team win at least one game at home to extend the series.
“Steph Curry has really been limited to just doing treatment and he’s gonna be reevaluated on Wednesday. My understanding is that he could be back for game six at the earliest,” NBA Insider Shams Charania said during an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”.

The Golden State Warriors announced that Stephen Curry will be re-evaluated next Wednesday, meaning that he will miss at least the next couple of games against the Timberwolves.
The series is tied after Game 2 and moves to San Francisco for Games 3 and 4 on Saturday and Monday, respectively.
Game 5 (if necessary) is on Wednesday, May 14, where Stephen Curry could return to the lineup. A Game 6 (if necessary) will take place on Sunday, May 18.
