Jonas Valanciunas is traveling to Athens to meet with Panathinaikos’ front office and finalize his deal with the Greens.
The two sides reportedly are in advanced talks and a deal should become official soon, as Valanciunas is not a free agent yet.
Panathinaikos has made a lucrative offer available to the Lithuanian star big man worth around $13 million for three seasons.
Jonas Valanciunas has moved to the Denver Nuggets with a guaranteed deal for the 2025-26 season worth more than $10 million.
Per Marc Stein, though, the trade between the Kings and Nuggets that included swapping Jonas Valanciunas for Dario Saric can’t be made official until Sunday.
Still, the veteran big man is expected to discuss his departure from Denver as soon as early next week, after he agrees to a deal with Panathinaikos, so he can sign his contract with the seven-time EuroLeague Champions.
Valanciunas has played in the NBA for 13 seasons averaging 13.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per contest.
