Phoenix Suns announced on Sunday that Chris Paul will miss six to eight weeks, due to a thumb injury.
The All-Star guard is dealing with a right thumb avulsion and Phoenix medical staff will re-evaluate him in six to eight weeks. This means Chris Paul could return as early as late March.
The veteran guard had very limited time for Team LeBron in the All-Star Game. He is set to start his rehabilitation on Monday.
Paul suffered the injury in the third quarter of the home game vs the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. He also got ejected a few moments after the injury for complaining to the referees.
Phoenix star guard has been unstoppable this season. He is averaging 14.9 points, 10.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds in 58 games so far.
Paul has led the Suns to the top of the NBA, with the best record in the league (48-10). Phoenix is a few wins away from becoming the first team to clinch its spot in the postseason.
For his part, the veteran guard is seeking to claim his first NBA championship. Paul is a 12-time All-Star and a four-time All-NBA First Team member. He is also a seven-time All-Defensive Team member and a member of NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
