Heat guard Victor Oladipo could reportedly make season debut mid-March

Victor Oladipo could make his season debut with the Miami Heat mid-March, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Oladipo is a solid two-way player, when he’s healthy. However, the last three seasons, foot injuries derailed his All-Star career. He signed a new deal with the Miami Heat as he was rehabbing from another long-term injury last summer.

The former All-Star could potentially make his season debut “within two weeks”, with Woj saying “there is optimism” on that front.

Oladipo, who first had surgery on his quad tendon in January 2019, arrived in Miami in a March 2021 trade-deadline deal with the Houston Rockets.

In nine years of career in the NBA, Oladipo was drafted third overall from the Orlando Magic. He also has stints with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers.

Oladipo was coming off the best season of his career, when he first injured his quad tendon. He has career averages of 17.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists through 454 NBA games.

He played four games last season, before he re-injured his tendon. Not only that, but he underwent surgery to repair the issue last May.

The Miami Heat are already one of the best teams in the NBA. They’re leading the East with a 39-21 record with a potential Oladipo return adding more depth to a winning squad.
