Klay Thompson listed out ahead of Warriors vs Mavs

Klay Thompon was listed out with general illness ahead of the Warriors’ game vs the Dallas Mavericks, the “Dubs” announced Sunday.

Thompson is not in the NBA’s COVID health and safety protocols. He was listed questionable on Saturday.

To manage his workload following two major surgeries on his ACL and Achilles, Thompson is not playing back-to-back games. This will be the sixth game he will be sitting out since his return in Jan.9.

Thompson is restricted to play at most 30 minutes since he has returned to the court. He’s averaging 17.0 points and three assists per contest, shooting 42 percent from the field and 39% from beyond the arc in 17 games.

Thompson played great in the last game, putting up 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting and 4-of-7 from 3-point range. The Warriors are at 43-17, which is ranked as the second-best record in the NBA and the Western Conference.

The Warriors are also waiting for Draymond Green to get back from a nagging back injury. It could happen in the coming weeks, provide there are no setbacks.
