Boston Celtics center is listed questionable ahead of the must-win Game 6 vs the Golden State Warriors. However, he’s expected to play and according to Shams Charania is close to 100 percent health and expected to play in Game 6.
Robert Williams has played through a knee injury and logged at least 30 minutes in each of the last two games. Williams missed the beginning of Boston’s first-round series before returning in Game 3 against the Brooklyn Nets.
The Boston Celtics big man underwent surgery on March 30 after suffering a torn meniscus in his left knee. He was named in the Second All-Defensive team this season averaging 2.2 blocks in the best defense of the NBA.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, Williams said he had his knee drained “repeatedly” during the conference finals series against the Miami Heat. Williams is averaging 7.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game during the NBA Finals.
“I was really having my knee drained a lot last series,” Williams told Haynes. “I stopped draining it because there was no point, in my opinion. My knee kept filling back up with fluid. So, I’ve kind of learned how to manage it to be able to play.”
The defensive stopper will be crucial for the Celtics going into a must-win game and keeping their defensive intensity on a high level. The Celtics will need the dynamic big ready to compete.
