Jalen Brunson on former teammate Luka Doncic: “He’s a first-ballot Hall of Famer”

Jalen Brunson will be in New York this season after four years in Dallas alongside Luka Doncic. The Knicks’ guard talked on his former teammate and why it’s easy to play alongside him.

“It wasn’t really difficult (to play alongside him) because you knew what it was. Luka is such a great talent. He can do anything on the court,” said Brunson (h/t Sports Illustrated).

Although Brunson isn’t on the Mavs’ roster anymore, he still has a high level of respect for Doncic who is showcasing his talents in EuroBasket 2022.

“I think, for me, I kind of figured out how to play with him because he’s so dominant. He knows how to play the game, he knows how to help his team win. I truly loved playing with him because we were in a position to win every night, because of him,” Brunson continued in his interview on USA Today’s Sports Seriously.

“I’ve said this numerous times and I’ll continue to say it until I speak it into existence; That dude is a first-ballot Hall of Famer,” the Knicks star concluded.

Losing Brunson was a huge blow for the Dallas Mavericks, who enter the new season coming off a deep playoff run. Brunson was a huge part during that run alongside Luka Doncic as both pushed the Mavs to the Western Conference Finals.
