NBA Fantasy: 3 Players to claim on waivers or via trade

NBA Fantasy Leagues began on Tuesday with the season openers in Boston and San Francisco. After a busy Wednesday, we have a blueprint to continue improving our team for the rest of the week.

In our NBA Fantasy roster, we moved some pieces to improve our chances, especially in the shooting department. We proposed a trade for Bojan Bogdanovic sending away center Andre Drummond, who will have less impact early in the season with Nikola Vucevic healthy.

Moreover, we claimed Ayo Dosunmu from the waivers and added him to the squad as we needed more guard play with LaMelo Ball out injured.

Here are three players you should add to your team ahead of the next few days/weeks:

Santi Aldama – Memphis Grizzlies

Filling in for Jaren Jackson Jr., Aldama started and had 18 points, 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal, one block and three 3-pointers for the Grizzlies. He’s worth a try in every league after last night’s 39-minute performance. Aldama will continue receiving a big chunk of minutes going forward, and he has already impressed during the preseason.

Aldama spent most of the past season in G League. He seems ready to become a legit contributor for the ambitious Memphis Grizzlies.

Ayo Dosunmu – Chicago Bulls

Ayo Dosunmu was outstanding in a start at point guard vs. Miami on Wednesday, scoring 17 points with six rebounds, four assists, two steals, one block and three triples in 36 minutes. The Bulls will need a big season from Dosunmu with Lonzo Ball out indefinitely, and the guard had a promising start in the 2022-23 NBA season.

Dosunmu has shown flashes of his ability as a part-time starter last season. His production against a contending team like Miami offers hope that he can assume the starting role in the guard position and produce big numbers for the NBA Fantasy players.

Jaden McDaniels – Minnesota Timberwolves

Minnesota Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels started over veteran forward Kyle Anderson in the team’s season opener, and he did not disappoint. He produced 19 points with six rebounds, three assists, three steals and two blocks in 36 minutes of play in Minnesota’s victory over the OKC Thunder.

With McDaniels’ ridiculous wingspan and defensive instincts can easily become a two-way menace in the NBA Fantasy. We hope to see the trend of adding blocks and steals in his statline continue as we’re moving forward into the season.
