Desmond Bane to miss at least 2-3 weeks

The Memphis Grizzlies announced that Desmond Bane is out and will be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks due to a Grade 2 sprain of his right big toe. Bane suffered the injury last Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Bane had been off to a tremendous start in his first 12 games of the season. The 24-year-old has taken another step forward in his third year, having boosted his scoring average to 24.7 points per game.

Desmond Bane is also averaging career highs in rebounds (4.9), assists (4.8), and 3-point percentage (45.1). Memphis is on the verge of getting some lineup reinforcements, as Jaren Jackson Jr. is expected to make his season debut Tuesday.

The Grizzlies will be without Bane the next 6-11 games. The Grizzlies have a +9.2 net rating when Bane is on the court this season and replacing his production will be a tall task for Memphis.

With Bane sidelined, John Konchar and Dillon Brooks are in to receive a bump in their minutes for the Grizzlies, who started the season with nine wins in 14 games.
