Ettore Messina addressed the rumors about Armani Milano pursuing a deal with former NBA All-Star Kemba Walker.
The Italian head coach denied the rumors and called out Gazzetta dello Sport, which first posted the article.
“There is nothing. I have no comment to make. He’s a great player who’s been struggling for physical reasons since last year,” Ettore Messina told media on Sunday.
“Ask Gazzetta who launched this novelty without even making a phone call to us. Evidently, they just read [about it] on Twitter and wrote an article.”
Kemba Walker has been a free agent since the Dallas Mavericks waived him earlier in January. He appeared in nine games with the Mavs and had a 32-point, seven-assist game vs the Cleveland Cavaliers in December.
Amid injury to key players, Armani Milano is at the bottom of the EuroLeague standings with a 6-13 record. Ettore Messina revealed that star guards Kevin Pangos and Shavon Shields will miss several weeks.
