Alec Peters praises Sasha Vezenkov: “It was awesome playing together last season”

Olympiacos forward Alec Peters has been one of the best performers early in the season and he recently talked about current Sacramento Kings’ forward Sasha Vezenkov. After Sunday’s win vs. Kolossos Rodou for the Greek Basket League, the American forward was asked about his relationship with the former EuroLeague MVP.

There is no comparison, I love him. It was awesome playing together last season. He is where he is for a reason,” Peters said on ERT (via Sport24).

The 2023 EuroLeague MVP made the jump to the NBA this summer after a career year with Olympiacos. Peters, who is considered the starting forward instead of Vezenkov this season, revealed that sometimes he stays up at night to see the Bulgarian forward play in Sacramento.

I don’t sleep to watch him play, so I hope he does too. The way he works, in Sacramento that’s not a team like the others, they want to win and that’s why they got Sasha.”

Olympiacos is preparing for the game against Anadolu Efes for EuroLeague round 5 in hope of putting together a sequence of positive results going forward. Alec Peters has been averaging 11.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists on a 15.5 EFF rating through the first four EuroLeague games of the season.

The forward has been actively covering for Vezenkov to start the season putting some great performances under his belt after spending his time as a back-up forward behind the 2023 EuroLeague MVP last season.

“Everybody knows that Efes is one of the most successful clubs in recent years. They won the previous game, they have a formidable roster with Larkin, Clyburn, Beaubois and it will take a team effort (to win the game),” Alec Peters said about the upcoming match against Anadolu Efes.
