James Harden praises Tyrese Maxey in the aftermath of blockbuster trade

James Harden left the Philadelphia 76ers having verbally clashed with the Sixers front office, but he had a great relationship with some of his former teammates, including  point guard Tyrese Maxey.

With Harden joining the Clippers via trade, the veteran superstar talked about his former backcourt partner in Philadelphia.

“I can only expect great things from Tyrese, just because of the amount of work I know he puts in,” said Harden per The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Gina Mizell.

“He’s in the gym. He loves it, so the results are going to happen for him in a great way. I’m excited for him. Hopefully, he can have an opportunity to make an All-Star team and really show his game. I’m definitely excited for his growth and his maturity.”

With James Harden being unavailable for the 76ers, Maxey unleashed his talents elevating his game to new highs. The former Kentucky product is averaging 26.2 points, 6.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds through five games to start the NBA season.

The Sixers are 4-1 and has been sitting as the second-best record in the Eastern Conference in the opening weeks of the 2023/24 campaign. Maxey has talked about Harden in the same manner praising him for his professionalism and the fact that he took him under his wing.

“I texted [Harden] telling him I love him and I appreciate him … One thing that he really instilled in me is confidence. I’ve always been a confident person, but he made me even more confident than I already was…” Maxey revealed recently.

James Harden will make his LA Clippers debut on Monday against the New York Knicks playing alongside Russell Westbrook in the guard positions.
