Evan Fournier reacts to return to MSG; says he didn’t care about facing the Knicks for the first time since his trade

Evan Fournier returned to Madison Square Garden for the first time since his trade to the Detroit Pistons. The French star guard reacted to his return, saying that he had no hard feelings towards his former team and didn’t care about facing the Knicks again.

“I want to play well. At this point in my career, I truly don’t care [if I’m playing my former team]. I feel like I’m being myself again. Help these young guys and grow. I actually never felt like that (having bad feelings toward a former team),” Evan Fournier said, via Basketnews.com.

“I remember my first year when I was playing well against Boston, I never really cared, to be honest. I don’t know, and I don’t really care for it if I’m being honest. You should ask coach Tom Thibodeau that.”

Fournier spent two years with the Knicks (2022-2024), with the New York franchise being currently fourth in the East with a 35-23 record. Meanwhile, the Pistons have a league-worst 8-49 record and have lost six in a row.
