Sixers, Bucks stay alive; Cavs take lead over Magic – NBA Playoffs

It was an NBA playoffs night to remember for Tyrese Maxey as the Sixers were able to survive for another day after the one-time All-Star erupted for 46 points in the MSG and led Philadelphia to a 112-106 victory in OT. The 76ers return to Philadelphia for another must-win game after forcing Game 6.

Joel Embiid had a triple-double but also nine turnovers registering 19 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists. Maxey forced the OT with the Knicks ahead by 90-96 with less than 30 seconds remaining.

The All-Star guard converted a four-point play with 25 seconds remaining to cut it to two, and after Josh Hart’s free throw, pulled up from 35 feet to tie it at 97 with 8.1 seconds.

The Milwaukee Bucks were able to remain alive in the season by forcing a Game 6 in the NBA playoff series against Indiana. Bobby Portis bounced back with 29 points after getting ejected early in Game 4, Khris Middleton also had 29 and Milwaukee beat the Pacers 92-115.

With the series at 3-2, the Milwaukee Bucks are going to Indiana with the hope to have back Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo. Both stars missed Game 5 after suffering leg injuries.

Antetokounmpo has missed this entire series and hasn’t played since straining his left calf on April 9. Lillard sat out a second straight game after injuring his Achilles in Game 3 OT loss.

Evan Mobley was the hero of the moment for Cleveland Cavaliers, who bounced back from two consecutive defeats in order to beat the Orlando Magic 103-104 in the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The NBA playoff series return to Orlando for Game 6 with Cavs one win away from advancing.

Evan Mobley blocked Franz Wagner’s layup in the final seconds and Cleveland bounced back from two back-to-back blowout defeats in their roaring arena. The Cavs were missing starting center Jarrett Allen, who was a late scratch before the game.

Donovan Mitchell scored 28 points and Evan Mobley added 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side.
