Shane Larkin set to headline Turkey’s roster for 2023 BWC Qualifiers

Shane Larkin is expected to headline the roster of Turkey for the upcoming 2023 Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.

The superstar guard of Anadolu Efes will join the national team for the two games against Greece. More specifically, Larkin will be in Efes’ lineup for the EuroLeague game vs Maccabi Tel-Aviv on Thursday.

He will then travel to Athens for the first game vs Greece on Friday. He will also be available for the second game between the two teams in Istanbul on Monday.

Big man Sertac Sanli will miss both games. He will travel with FC Barcelona to Moscow for the game vs CSKA on Sunday (27/02).

For its part, Greece will also have several EuroLeague players available for the clash with Turkey. Both games are must win for the two squads, who have identical records in Group B (1-1).

The second window of the 2023 Basketball World Cup Qualifiers will take place at the end of the week (February 24-28).

FIBA already suspended the game between Ukraine and Spain on February 27, due to security reasons. The game will take place in the summer, either in June or July.
