EuroBasket Day 4 Roundup: 6 more teams clinch their spot in knockout stage

Day 4 of the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket came to an end on Tuesday, with another six teams clinching their spot in the knockout stage. These six teams are Spain, Turkey, Poland, Italy, Croatia and Finland.

In Group A, Turkey and Spain defeated Belgium and Montenegro, respectively, and sealed their ticket to the knockout stage. The two powerhouses will collide on Wednesday (LIVE from Hedgeout.net), with the winner finishing first and the loser second.

Bulgaria stunned Georgia (80-92) and if they defeat Belgium, they will advance to the next stage. The other game of the day is the one between Montenegro and already-eliminated Georgia.

Belgium (2-2) vs Turkey (3-1): 63-78

Montenegro (2-2) vs Spain (3-1): 65-82

Georgia (1-3) vs Bulgaria (1-3): 80-92

In Group B, Luka Doncic erupted for 36 points and Slovenia defeated Germany (LIVE from Hedgeout.net), ending the hosts’ unbeaten run in the EuroBasket (80-88).

Slovenia, France and Germany have identical records (3-1) and the final standings will be decided on Wednesday (Germany vs Hungary, Slovenia vs France).

In the other game of the day, Lithuania will play Bosnia, with the winner claiming the fourth place and advancing to the knockout stage.

Hungary (0-4) vs Lithuania (1-3): 64-87

Germany (3-1) vs Slovenia (3-1): 80-88

In Group C, Greece used an impressive second-quarter performance (60-33) and dominated Ukraine (99-79, LIVE from Hedgeout.net) to claim the top spot in the group, while Ukraine will finish second.

In the other match, Italy made the comeback and stunned Croatia in a late thriller, with both teams advancing to the next round as well (81-76, LIVE from Hedgeout.net).

Estonia (1-3) vs Great Britain (0-4): 94-62

Greece (4-0) vs Ukraine (3-1): 99-79

Italy (2-2) vs Croatia (2-2): 81-76

In Group D, Serbia rallied past Israel (78-89) and is the favorite for the top spot in the group. Poland edged the Netherlands (69-75) and also advanced, while Finland defeated hosts Czech Republic (98-88) and qualified for the knockout stage as well.

In Day 5 on Thursday, the winner of the clash between the Czechs and the Israelis will advance to the EuroBasket knockout stage.
