Lithuania rallies past Bosnia; will clash with Spain in the EuroBasket knockout stage

Lithuania rallied past Bosnia and Herzegovina (87-70) and clinced its spot in the knockout stage of the EuroBasket.

The Lithuanians used a strong second-quarter performance to outscore their opponents 28-14 and take control (56-42). Since then, nothing changed significantly, as the Bosnians couldn’t make a wild comeback and fight for the victory.

Marius Grigonis led five Lithuania players in scoring with 16 points, while Jonas Valanciunas had 13 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. On the other hand, Dzanan Musa and Jusuf Nurkic were the top scorers for the losing squad with 22 and 15 points, respectively.

The two teams finished with identical records (2-3), but it was Lithuania that eventually advanced to the knockout stage.

They will now take on Spain in the Round of 16, as the Spaniards defeated Turkey (69-72, LIVE from Hedgeout.net) and sealed the top spot in Group A (4-1). The game will take place at Mercedes Benz Arena in Berlin on Saturday, September 10.
