Injury blow for Slovenia; Zoran Dragic out for the rest of EuroBasket

Slovenia NT will continue in the EuroBasket with 11 players as Zoran Dragic is out with a torn quadriceps muscle, and he will miss the rest of the tournament, multiple media outlets report.

Dragic was also injured in EuroBasket 2017 when Slovenia won the trophy. Per competition rules, it’s not permitted to replace players in case they are injured during the EuroBasket.

Slovenia will continue its campaign to defend its title with 11 players. Luka Doncic and co. will collide with Poland for the quarterfinals of the tournament on Wednesday.

The veteran guard averaged 5.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest through six games in EuroBasket 2022.

Slovenia beat Belgium in the road of 16, while Poland prevailed over Ukraine after a late run to secure the spot in the top 8.
