Fenerbahce to miss Tonye Jekiri for 2 months with groin injury

Fenerbahce is still dealing with injuries to key players and has ruled another player out for the coming weeks.

As announced by the club on Monday, Tonye Jekiri has been playing through a groin injury and will undergo surgery, as conservative treatment didn’t solve the issue.

Jekiri, who is averaging 5.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in 13:25 minutes per game, will have the surgery after Thursday’s home game vs Partizan. He will remain out for eight weeks.

Fellow big man Johnathan Motley is also out until the end of December, so Fenerbahce has signed Kostas Antetokounmpo to bolster its frontline.

Former EuroLeague MVP Nemanja Bjelica, who is out since the end of the summer with a calf injury, will return to practice in early January.
