LaMarcus Aldridge is attempting a return to the NBA and will have a workout for the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Aldridge, a 16-year NBA veteran, last played for the Brooklyn Nets during the 2021/22 season and has been a free agent since then. In 47 games with Brooklyn last year, he averaged 12.9 points. He also has career averages of 19 points and eight rebounds.
Aldridge, 37, has been preparing to play in his 17th NBA season. A Dallas native, Aldridge has averaged 19 points and eight rebounds in his career.

Meanwhile, the Mavs brought Kyrie Irving and Markieff Morris to the team via a trade from the Nets and have their sights set on the NBA championship. Landing LaMarcus Aldridge on an off-the-bench role will help them bolster their frontline en route to the playoffs.
Despite having both Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic available, Dallas has lost its last two games and is currently fifth in the West standings with a 31-28 record.
