Nikola Jokic to be available for Serbia NT in Paris 2024

Nikola Jokic wanted to rest last summer, so he did not help Serbia in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. After a tedious NBA season where his Denver Nuggets won the NBA championship for the first time in the history of the franchise, Jokic will likely return to international basketball next summer.

More specifically, Nikola Jokic is set to play in the 2024 Paris Olympics according to the President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia and former basketball head coach, Bozidar Maljkovic.

“We didn’t have NBA MVP, Nikola Jokic. Neither Vasilije Micic, the MVP of the EuroLeague. Nor Nikola Kalinic. I think we come together and get the best out of us, as in all sports,” Maljkovic said about Serbia’s performance in the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

“I already announced that in Paris, they will be all, Jokic included. The Paris Games will be a party, and I am confident that Serbian sports will have a successful representation.”

Jokic has previously represented Serbia at three major including the 2016 Rio Olympics, the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket. He won the silver in the 2016 Olympics in his most successful run with the Serbia NT so far in his career.
