Day 1 of the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket tipped off on Saturday, with four teams officially advancing to the quarter-finals of the tournament.

France survived an overtime thriller vs Turkey (86-87) and advanced to the quarter-finals for a 13th time (here is what Moustapha Fall told Hedgeout.net after the game), while hosts Germany endured the wild comeback of Montenegro from down 27 (51-24) and also qualified for the quarter-finals (85-79).

Slovenia needed a strong fourth-quarter performance (25-12) to rally past Belgium which completed its presence in the EuroBasket with a solid performance (here is Belgium’s guard Emmanuel Lecomte telling Hedgeout.net why he is proud of the squad).

In the final game of Day 1, Spain and Lithuania collided in a EuroBasket classic, with the Spaniards emerging victorious (102-94) and sealing their ticket to the quarter-finals for another major FIBA tournament.
